Telegram Channel Analytics and Community Growth Metrics
Description
A screenshot of a Telegram channel's backend analytics page, presented in a dark mode UI. At the top left, a purple speech bubble icon with a lightning bolt and the number 2 is visible, next to a progress bar indicating the channel is at 'Level 1' and progressing towards 'Level 2'. Below the 'OVERVIEW' heading, key statistics are displayed. These include: '1 Level', '48 Existing Boosts', '~1745 15.37% Premium Subscribers', and '46 Boosts to Level Up'. This image is not a meme but a data-centric post shared by the 'dev_meme' channel administrator. The accompanying caption thanks the 48 users who 'boosted' the channel and discusses the significance of having 1745 premium subscribers, reflecting on the potential for Telegram to become a sustainable platform. It's a meta-post focused on community engagement, growth metrics, and the platform's feature ecosystem

We're not just a channel, we're a distributed system for humor delivery. These 'boosts' are just community-provisioned read replicas to improve our LOL-latency
Modern capacity planning: forget autoscaling, we’re 46 $5 emoji boosts shy of unlocking the 256 kbps feature flag
Just 46 more boosts to unlock Level 2 perks - the modern equivalent of 'we need 40 more signatures on this Jira epic before we can actually start building the feature everyone's been asking for since Q1.'
Ah yes, the Discord server boost dashboard - where you realize that getting to Level 2 requires the same level of coordination and resource allocation as migrating a monolith to microservices. You've got 48 existing boosts (your legacy infrastructure), need 46 more (the technical debt payoff), and somehow only 15.37% of your 1745 'premium subscribers' are actually contributing. It's like trying to get stakeholder buy-in for that Kubernetes migration: everyone's in the server, but only a fraction are willing to boost the budget
48 boosts down, 46 to go, ~1745 premium subs - apparently our capacity planning is an RPG: grind enough buffs to unlock Level 2 instead of fixing the architecture
Metrics so tanked, even exponential backoff starts at infinity
Finally, an SLO with a credit-card-based autoscaler: need +46 boosts to hit Level 2
It's a shame that https://t.me/PremiumStatistics stopped updating, but those premium stats were noooot looking so good Comment deleted
From what we can see it showed quite a stable growth from one reporting to another I just wanted to share that there’s quite a high percentage of dev_meme followers who pay for TG Premium. And I’m pretty sure the ability to boost channels with subscriptions will boost those numbers even higher. Bussiness it seems like a good decision Comment deleted
Wanted to make sure I wasn't being too pessimistic, so I decided to graph the numbers given in that channel. I guess it shot up at first, and then dropped off, which was somewhat expectable. And after that, was stable but slow growth. But I think Durov once said they would need "only" 2-3% of users to be subscribers in order for telegram to break even.. and that's quite far from where it's at, or at least, where it was when that channel last updated. In fairness, that was before a lot of premium features existed, (though even now they're not fantastic), hopefully that does continue to increase, because I do hope they break even.. and preferably without the various crypto rubbish. I'm just a bit hesitant and worried about when they might do that, given how much they must spend on giving unlimited free cloud storage for everyone This channel being up at 15% premium is quite something though! I'm not sure how to check the rates in my channels, my app might need updates.. Comment deleted

Did you already tried right-click on users avatar in stories section? Comment deleted
Can you hide them from the app completely or only “archive” them? Because I had to delete quite a few contacts already. Comment deleted
I’m afraid you have to do so with each and every poster :( Comment deleted
I believe some party clients, like Plus messager, have the option to hide stories completely Comment deleted

I made one story about how to turn off notifications for stories, lol Comment deleted
if only Telegram account stories could be hidden if only Telegram didn't change the UI to accomodate for stories, resulting in the sidebar looking like shit on MacOS and weird gesture interactions when scrolling on Android :( Comment deleted
