  You are not right. Even the very aggressive Vikings and Japanese were able to change their national politics and become one of the best countries in the world. Russians also have chances to improve. But with every year of usurpation of power by new fascists in the Kremlin, such chances are less and less. Russia will either change soon or fall apart soon.

Not only that, the Scandinavian countries still exist, and they are among the best in the world. Nobody destroyed them.   Russians are very different, but they are one people. Russians have a common culture and worldview. The only exceptions are migrants, who often do not even know how to speak Russian. But illegal migrants are a problem not only in Russia, but also in many other countries of the world. Russians are indeed so different that it is hard for other nations to believe that they have anything in common.

You are mistaken in thinking that the Japanese are not conservative. Japan is very sensitive to the changes that have occurred to her, and still dreams of reviving her military strength.
