Cursed C++ Competition Generates 1.5GB Errors From 256 Bytes
Description
A screenshot of a tweet from @lauriewired (LaurieWired, verified account) that reads: 'There's a cursed C++ competition where programmers try to create the largest possible error message. Finalists created ~1.5GB of error messages from just 256 bytes of source.' The tweet highlights a real programming competition that exploits C++ template metaprogramming and compiler error explosion to generate astronomically large error outputs from minimal source code. 1.5GB of error messages from 256 bytes? That's not a competition, that's just what happens when an intern tries to use Boost.Spirit for the first time
Most languages have garbage collection for memory. C++ has garbage-truck collection for error messages

"When passed to the C++ compiler invocation line, this allows the shell code to escape the test harness sandbox. Extra credit for using Perl, which is the only language less readable than C++ templates." I love that part Comment deleted
