Baristas Want to Code, Developers Dream of Making Coffee

Description

A two-panel meme using scenes from what appears to be a movie or show, featuring two people in vintage blue cars. Top panel: A woman driving with an anxious expression, with text overlay 'Baristas taking coding courses so they can become developers'. Bottom panel: A man in the adjacent car looking sideways with a wistful, longing expression, with text overlay 'Developers dreaming of opening cafes and becoming baristas'. The meme captures the grass-is-always-greener paradox in tech careers - people outside the industry romanticize coding careers for the salary and perceived prestige, while burned-out developers fantasize about leaving tech entirely to pursue simpler, more tangible work like running a coffee shop. The vintage car setting and film-like quality add a dreamlike, nostalgic tone to the career existential crisis

I worked for a year as a courier after 10 years in tech, it was awesome

Idk about other countries, but in Russia, it seems, a courier can earn as much as a middle developer.

It was the minimal wage 🤷‍♀️ Even half of it, because I worked for about 20 hours per week on a regular bike. A courier can earn as much as a middle dev only if (s)he works on an electric bike and for 60+ hours per week
