Existential Crisis When You Realize Vibe Coding Was Your Default All Along
Description
A meme featuring a close-up of Cillian Murphy as Oppenheimer from the 2023 film, holding his hand to his forehead in a look of distressed realization. The text at the top reads 'Today I learned that I've been vibe coding since chatgpt came out.' The image uses the Oppenheimer 'what have I done' expression to convey the horror of realizing that one's entire post-ChatGPT coding workflow - copying, pasting, hoping it works - is now officially called 'vibe coding.' The muted color palette and dramatic framing amplify the existential dread

The real Oppenheimer moment isn't building the bomb - it's realizing you haven't actually read your own codebase since November 2022
My process is simple: I have the vision, the 'vibe.' ChatGPT just handles the tedious part of translating that vibe into thousands of lines of code I don't fully understand

Can be mindless copying from stack overflow considered as vibecoding? Comment deleted
Vibe coding is a derivative since those LLMs used SO for learning. Comment deleted
vibecoding is more like "ai is my slave" using stackoverflow is more like "google search is my slave" on the first you rely on AI on the second you rely on luck (but at least you know what are you doing) Comment deleted
