Microsoft Renames Everything to Copilot: The Complete Product Rebrand List

Description

A screenshot of a tweet from @IceSolst reading 'NEW: Microsoft is renaming all their products' followed by a satirical list mapping every Microsoft product to a Copilot-branded name: GitHub to CopilotHub, LinkedIn to Copilot Unemployed, Xbox to XCopilot, Teams to CopilotSkype, Azure to CopilotCloud, OneDrive to CopilotDeleteurfiles, Edge to CopilotExplorer, VSCode to CopilotCursor, Bing to Copilot4cucks, Defender to CopilotNoViruses, Intune to CopilotMalware, Windows to CopilOS, Authenticator to CopiletMeIn, Bethesda to CopilotSkyrim, Activision to Copilot of Duty, Task Manager to CopilotDavePlummerWroteTaksManager, Powershell to CopilotNotBash, Hyper-V to Copilotrash, WSL to Copilubuntu, and finally Copilot to CopilotCopilot. The humor escalates with increasingly absurd names

I wonder if I'll ever "upgrade" past Windows 7 at this rate

    1. @deimossos 6mo

resisting the urge to say "just upgrade to Linux"

      1. @Daonifur 6mo

There's no Linux machines sold in stores. Maybe it's easier to buy a Mac at this point

        1. @tema3210 6mo

What's the point of buying preinstalled OS?

          1. @Daonifur 6mo

            Just buy PC, use it

        2. @tema3210 6mo

          Also there are, but rare

      2. @SamsonovAnton 6mo

First, why stick with just one OS when you can have the best of both worlds? Second, about the "upgrade" part. My favorite Linux distro says it won't upgrade to the recent major release on a Core 2 machine, because it requires x86-64v2 from now on, while Windows 7 is totally comfortable with that configuration.

        1. @XmasApple 6mo

Does your windows 7 has new releases?

win10 is fine if you dare to debloat it and remove all the telemetry

Xbox —> XCopilot Will it play games for me (instead of me)? 🥴 PowerShell —> CopilotNotBash Microsoft could live to its reputation and rename PowerShell to Microsoft Bash — not an acronym, but rather just a regular noun — so that a decade later the primary meaning of "Bash" as a software title would be "MS Bash", not GNU BASH. 📦

I like the use of codeblocks emoji here. Was and probably still is an underrated IDE because VS had more requirements, internet etc, just to install

      1. @Daonifur 6mo

The one I don't see, for obvious reasons, is flash but it was a nice thing to develop for games and animations that just ran on everything. Too bad Adobe basically pulled a smalltalk with it

It was Apple & Google joint campaign

Not yet. But it's in the works
