Hugging Face CEO Announces Twins, Community Asks to Open Source Them
Description
A screenshot of a Twitter/X thread. Clement Delangue (@ClementDelangue), CEO of Hugging Face, posted a 3D ultrasound image of twins with the caption: 'Looks like we're going to welcome two more Hugging Faces to the family next year. My wife is a hero!' tagging @ReginaSil2. The post has 238 comments, 42 retweets, 3.2K likes, and 116K views. Mohammed Alshehri (@SwishMoe) replies: 'what's their weights?' - a double entendre referencing both baby weight and ML model weights/parameters. Clement responds: 'They're at 600g each now'. Mohammed then delivers the punchline: 'open source them' - the ultimate Hugging Face community response, treating the CEO's unborn children like ML models that should be made publicly available

At 600g each, those are lightweight models - perfect for edge deployment. But will they support fine-tuning, and more importantly, will they be released under Apache 2.0?
The first pre-trained models that literally need to be burped after fine-tuning. Let's hope they don't start hallucinating at 3 AM
When your twins are already at 600g each but still need 18 years of training before they can be deployed to production - and unlike ML models, you can't just spin up more instances when they throw exceptions
When your twins are at 600g each and someone suggests open sourcing them - classic Hugging Face community response. Just remember: unlike model weights, these require 18+ years of fine-tuning and don't support rollback
Horizontal scaling perfected: two Hugging Face replicas with zero-gravity affinity - high availability, no downtime until deployment
