    Pythonista, Gopher, Rustacean… after 20 years JavaScript has renamed me jQuery Ninja, Angular Acolyte, React Renegade, and now Next.js Nomad - apparently identity is just another breaking change in the JS release notes

    The real joke is that 'React Developer' is now a more specific job title than 'JavaScript Developer' because nobody's hiring for vanilla JS anymore - they want you to know their specific flavor of the month framework, even though you'll be rewriting it in the next hot thing before the project ships anyway

    The real joke here is that JavaScript developers have moved so far up the abstraction ladder that they've forgotten what language they're actually writing in - they're not JavaScript developers anymore, they're React developers, Vue developers, Angular developers... Meanwhile, Rustaceans are still arguing about lifetimes and Pythonistas are debating whether to use dataclasses or Pydantic models. But hey, at least the Gophers are happy with their single way to do things - until generics entered the chat
